This Border Collie came in at 6-8 weeks since the last appointment, ready for a complete service. The coat had grown to the point where a natural trim was both needed and requested. Bath with breed-appropriate shampoo, high-velocity blow-dry to remove loose coat — the amount of undercoat removed was significant, natural trim completed. Nails trimmed, ears cleaned, teeth brushed. In Miami's climate, Border Collies at this interval develop significant undercoat buildup that causes heat retention. Time: 85 minutes.

This Border Collie came in after 12 weeks without professional grooming, with a heavily matted undercoat that was trapping heat. Important: we do not shave double-coated breeds like Border Collies — the double coat protects against both heat and cold, and shaving causes irreversible damage. Instead, we performed an intensive de-shedding treatment: specialized shampoo, deep conditioning, 40 minutes of high-velocity blow-out with a powerful force dryer, and thorough hand-brushing. The amount of loose undercoat removed filled a paper bag. The Border Collie was visibly more comfortable after the session. De-shedding surcharge applied. Recommended de-shedding treatment every 6-8 weeks going forward.

Regular Border Collie client on a every 6 weeks schedule. This dog arrived in excellent condition — proof of what consistent professional grooming and at-home brushing achieves. We performed a light refresh: bath, blow-dry, light scissor touchup to neaten the natural trim, nail trim, ear cleaning. Total time: 60 minutes — about 20-30 minutes less than a first-time or infrequent client.
