Puppy First Groom in Miami — Gentle Introduction to Grooming

The puppy first groom is not a full groom — it is an introduction. The goal is familiarization, not perfection. For puppies 12-16 weeks, we do not use clippers on the first visit. The appointment includes a gentle bath, blow-dry on low heat, brush-out, nail trim, and getting the puppy comfortable with the groomer handling ears, paws, face, and tail.

Why the first groom matters: Puppies who have positive early grooming experiences tolerate adult grooming much better. A traumatic first groom — rushing, restraint, unfamiliar sounds — can create lifelong grooming anxiety. Mobile first grooms are especially effective because the puppy is in their home environment rather than a stressful new location.

When to book: Ideally after the puppy's second round of vaccinations, typically at 12-16 weeks. Some veterinarians clear puppies as early as 8-10 weeks for mobile grooming since the van is a controlled environment.
