This Doberman Pinscher came in at 7-8 weeks since the last appointment, ready for a complete service. Short-coated breeds do not require a haircut but benefit enormously from professional deshedding, deep bathing, and nail care. Bath with breed-appropriate shampoo, high-velocity blow-dry to remove loose coat, thorough brush-out. Nails trimmed, ears cleaned, teeth brushed. In Miami's climate, Doberman Pinschers at this interval develop skin odor from sweat and sebum in warm weather. Time: 100 minutes.

This Doberman Pinscher came in with 10 weeks of skin buildup — not coat matting, but significant sebum and dirt accumulation in the short coat and skin folds. Doberman Pinschers do not mat in the traditional sense, but their skin needs regular deep cleaning to prevent odor and bacterial growth. We used a deep-cleansing shampoo with a rubber brush to exfoliate the skin, followed by a thorough rinse and high-velocity dry to remove all loosened debris. Ears were particularly gunky — required extra cleaning time. Nails were overgrown and required a heavier cut. Skin under the coat was healthy.

We performed a light refresh: bath with deshedding shampoo, full blow-dry, nail trim, ear cleaning. Total time: 75 minutes — about 20-30 minutes less than a first-time or infrequent client.
