Standard Poodle coming in at 5 weeks — Poodles grow coat faster than most breeds and need professional attention every 4-5 weeks without exception. Coat was growing into the eyes and around the ears. We performed a sporting clip — short and clean through the body with a natural topknot. Ear hair plucked from the canal (Poodles grow hair inside the ear that must be removed at every appointment to prevent infections). Bath with volumizing shampoo, full blow-dry and fluff-out. Scissor work on face, feet, and topknot. Nail trim, ear cleaning, teeth brushing. Time: 90 minutes for a Standard; Miniature Poodles typically take 60-70 minutes.

Toy Poodle with 10 weeks of growth and significant matting at the ears, armpits, and base of the tail — the three classic pressure-point areas where Poodle coats mat first. The ear mats were severe enough to be uncomfortable; we carefully worked through them with a mat-breaking spray and fine-tooth comb before any clipping. The result was a shorter lamb clip rather than the requested sporting clip, necessary to manage the mat-affected areas cleanly. Ear plucking performed, ears flushed thoroughly. Owner advised on daily brushing at ear bases and underarms. Surcharge applied for de-matting time.

Miniature Poodle on a 4-week schedule — this is the ideal interval for the breed. The coat had grown out just enough to need a freshening. We performed a light scissor trim to neaten the topknot, face, and feet without removing significant length. Bath, blow-dry with fluffing brush to maximize volume. Ear pluck (light — no buildup at 4 weeks), teeth brushing. Total time: 55 minutes for a Miniature Poodle on schedule. Owner noted the dog is relaxed during grooming now after 6 months of consistent appointments — proof that regular mobile sessions build positive associations.
