This Samoyed came in at 6-8 weeks since the last appointment, ready for a complete service. The coat had grown to the point where a NEVER shave -- de-shed and brush only was both needed and requested. Bath with breed-appropriate shampoo, high-velocity blow-dry to remove loose coat — the amount of undercoat removed was significant, NEVER shave -- de-shed and brush only completed. Nails trimmed, ears cleaned, teeth brushed. In Miami's climate, Samoyeds at this interval develop significant undercoat buildup that causes heat retention. Time: 85 minutes.

This Samoyed came in after 12 weeks without professional grooming, with a heavily matted undercoat that was trapping heat. Important: we do not shave double-coated breeds like Samoyeds — the double coat protects against both heat and cold, and shaving causes irreversible damage. Instead, we performed an intensive de-shedding treatment: specialized shampoo, deep conditioning, 40 minutes of high-velocity blow-out with a powerful force dryer, and thorough hand-brushing. The amount of loose undercoat removed filled a paper bag. The Samoyed was visibly more comfortable after the session. De-shedding surcharge applied. Recommended de-shedding treatment every 6-8 weeks going forward.

Regular Samoyed client on a every 4 weeks schedule. This dog arrived in excellent condition — proof of what consistent professional grooming and at-home brushing achieves. We performed a light refresh: bath, blow-dry, light scissor touchup to neaten the NEVER shave -- de-shed and brush only, nail trim, ear cleaning. Total time: 60 minutes — about 20-30 minutes less than a first-time or infrequent client. The time savings from consistent scheduling mean this appointment costs less and causes less stress for the dog. Next appointment scheduled.
